DELEGATES representing the 48 Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member nations have expressed unanimous intention to reduce gender disparity among its scientists.

This was accentuated at the groundbreaking roundtable discussion entitled Empowering Women for Scientific and Technological Development in Islamic Countries, which was held as part of the fifth Islamic Conference of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research (5th ICMHESR) in Kuala Lumpur recently.

The delegates, however, were divided on whether the setting up of an all-women scientist group was a more feasible option over a non-gender bias network. . .
